Wieder einmal hat das Internet einen jungen, talentierten Menschen zu Ruhm verholfen. Iyaz stammt von den Jungferninseln und hat seine Songs vornehmlich via MySpace veröffentlicht. Durch Zufall stieß der Reggaemusiker Sean Kingston auf diese Aufnahmen und sorgte dafür, dass Iyaz eingeflogen wurde und vorsingen durfte.
Auch J.R. Rotem, Labelchef von Beluga Heights, erkannte sofort das Potential des jungen Mannes und ließ in umgehend einen Plattenvertrag unterschreiben. Der Rest ist dann bekannt. Mit seiner ersten Single "Replay" konnte Iyaz weltweit die Charts erobern und etablierte sich quasi über Nacht als Superstar. Vor allem auch seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Newcomer Jason Derulo verhalf Iyaz dabei auch seine eigenen Songs auf den Markt zu bringen.
Nach dem Superhit "Replay" schickt Iyaz nun seine neue Single "Solo" ins Rennen. Es handelt sich hierbei um die zweite Auskopplung aus seinem Debütalbum, das ebenfalls auf den Namen "Replay" hört.
„Iyaz‘ Songwriting ist zeitlos und universell,“ so Labelchef Rotem. „Iyaz ist ein Geschichtenerzähler, der Bilder entstehen lässt, die jedem Zuhörer sofort ans Herz gehen.“ Die ganze Geschichte kann man seit dem 16. Juli auf dem Album "Replay" hören. Die neue Single "Solo" steht digital bereits seit dem 9. Juli zum Download. Der Silberling wird allerdings erst ab dem 13. August veröffentlicht.
