Adele liefert mit ihrem neuen Album „21“, das passenderweise auch am 21. januar erscheint, das erste große Highlight des neuen Musikjahres ab. Dieser Meinung sind zumindest viele Fans und Kritiker. Das neue Album der Britin sei ein würdiger Nachfolger ihres Debüts „19“. Produziert wurde die Platte von US-Großmeister Rick Rubin, der schon Metallica zu gutem Sound verhalf. In den deutschen Single-Charts hat Adele die Erwartungen jedenfalls erfüllt…

…ihre neue Single „Rolling In The Deep“ startete als höchste Neueinsteigerin auf Platz 13 ins Ranking mit viel Luft nach oben. Die neue Single ist ein treibender Pop-Blues-Track, der sich vor allem im Radio behaupten kann. Gleichermaßen aber auch von Indie-Fraktionen für gut befunden wird. Adele ist damit ein kleines Kunststück geglückt. Geschrieben hat sie den Song zusammen mit Paul Epworth, der u.a. schon für Bloc Party, Plan B oder auch Florence & The Machine tätig war. Mit ihrem ersten Album „19“ hatte es Adele in Deutschland schwer, sie wurde oft verglichen mit Duffy oder auch Amy Winehouse und musste sich gegen diese Konkurrenz behaupten. Auch mit dem neuen Album „21“ wird es nicht leichter, da die Platte bei einem kleinen Label erschienen ist.

Der Erfolg der neuen Single „Rolling In The Deep“ könnte ihr aber die Türen öffnen. Erschienen ist die neue Single als Download schon 27. Dezember. Das neue Album „21“ repräsentiert nicht nur das Alter der Sängerin, sondern wird hierzulande auch passenderweise am 21. Januar veröffentlicht.
