In der vergangenen Woche haben wir an dieser Stelle über das neue Album "Any Man In America" der US-Rockband Blue October berichtet. Nun legen wir direkt nach mit der Single "The Chills", die zeitgleich mit dem Album in Deutschland erscheint. Das Album erzählt die Geschichte des Frontmanns Justin, der in der neuen Single auf eine Veränderung in seiner Beziehung zu einer Frau singt.
„Ich flehe: ’Warum musst du dich immer so verhalten? Warum laufen mir immer diese Schauer über den Rücken?’ Diese Schauer sind das Gefühl, das dir sagt, dass du jemanden liebst. In diesem Song geht es darum, meine Liebe zu beweisen, eben weil ich diese Schauer spüre.“
Der Album vorausgegangen ist einer der Tiefpunkte im Leben des Sängers Justin Furstenfeld, der sich kurz vor den Aufnahmen von seiner Frau trennte. Daraus resultierte auch ein erbitterter Sorgerechtsstreit um seine kleine Tochter.
In der neuen Single "The Chills" verarbeitet er nur einen kleinen Teil der Emotionen, die sich auf dem Album "Any Man In America" finden, das wohl vielen Menschen aus der Seele spricht.
