Joss Stone hat ein neues Album auf dem Markt: „Colour Me Free“ erschien am 30. Oktober 2009

Mit ihren 22 Jahren ist die Britin Joss Stone schon ein Weltstar und eine Soul-Legende. Ihr eigentlicher Name ist Joscelyn Eve Stoker und hat nun ihr viertes Studioalbum „Colour Me Free“ veröffentlicht.

Joss Stone wuchs im südwesten Englands schon mit R&B– und Soul-Musik auf. Das erste von ihr gekaufte Album war „Greatest Hits“ von Aretha Franklin. Bereits mit 14 nahm sie an einem Gesangswettbewerb des Fernsehsenders BBC teil. Mit 16 Jahren flog sie in die USA, um Steve Greenberg von „S-Curve“ vorzusingen und staubte gleich einen Plattenvertrag ab.

Das erste Album „The Soul Sessions“ erschien 2003 in Großbritannien und enthielt Cover-Songs. 2004 kam dann Joss Stones erstes eigenes Album „Mind, Body & Soul“. Damit erreichte die Künstlerin Platz 1 der englischen und Platz 7 der deutschen Charts.

Ihr Erfolg hielt an: im Februar 2005 gewann die Powerfrau zwei Brit-Awards, im selben Jahr war sie für drei Grammys nominiert. 2007 gewann Joss Stone zusammen mit John Legend und Van Hunt einen Grammy für „Familiy Affair“. Das dritte Album „Introducing… Joss Stone“, welches 2007 massenhaft über die Ladentheke ging, wurde von Raphael Saadiq produziert.

Das aktuelle vierte Studioalbum von Joss Stone – „Colour Me Free“ – ist am 30. Oktober 2009 erschienen.
