Mark Ronson ist ganz sicher einer der momentan wichtigsten "Musikanten" auf diesem Planeten. Der Grammy-Preisträger hat den Sound der letzten Jahre entscheidend mitgeprägt und dabei einen völlig eigenen Stil entwickelt, der sich immer wiedererkennen lässt. Aus Arbeiten mit Adele, Robbie Williams, Christina Aguilera, Nas, Daniel Merriweather und nicht zuletzt Amy Winehouse wurden Welthits. Meistens war Ronson dabei sogar im Hintergrund, aber immer präsent.
Die "weltweit gefragteste Studiofachkraft" Ronson, der Mann hinter den Stars, ist auch gleichzeitig der Schöpfer des Erfolgs. Man bedenke z.B. "Valerie" mit Amy Winehouse, der weltweit zum Superhit avancierte und Winehouse einen fetten Schub gab.
Nicht weniger erfolgreich waren aber seine Arbeiten als Produzent für andere Künstler, aber auch sein eigenes Album "Version" für das er das Who-Is-Who der britischen zusammentrommelte (Robbie Williams, Lilly Allen oder auch Santigold) schlug ein wie eine Bombe.
Trotzdem war es Ronson nicht genug, der Perfektionist strebte nach noch mehr und veröffentlicht nun sein neues Album "Record Collection".
Die erste Single von Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. heißt "Bang Bang Bang" und ist ein Feature mit Q-Tip und der Sängerin MDNR (u.a. Live-Keyboaderin der Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Der Song gibt das Fahrwasser des Albums vor und Ronson meint: "Als hätten Van Halen und The Meters zusammen ein Baby gehabt. Als wir 2007 auf diesen ganzen Festivals auftraten, landeten wir irgendwann im ‚Dance-Zelt‘, da wurde ich ziemlich neidisch, wenn Justice, Soulwax oder Pendulum in ihre ‚Double-Time-Breaks‘ übergingen und die ganzen Kids auf- und absprangen. So ein Tempo hatten wir in unserem Set nie. Also wollte ich das auch in einem unserer Songs haben."
Neid als Antrieb zur Perfektion, kein allzu schlechter Gedanke.
Erscheinen soll die neue Single "Bang Bang Bang" von Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. feat Q-Tip & MDNR ab dem 16. Juli.
