Erst Anfang März haben wir an dieser Stelle erstmals über Natalias Kills berichtet, ein neuer Stern am Popfirmament, der von vielen Kritikern bereits als neue Lady gaga gehandelt wird. So weit wollen wir an dieser Stelle nicht unbedingt gehen, denn beide sind durchaus eigene Künstler, aber Parallelen sind unverkennbar. Mit der ersten Single "Mirrors" gelang ihr direkt der Sprung in die Top 10 der deutschen Single-Charts. Und die Erfolgsgeschichte ist noch nicht beendet.
Am vergangenen Freitag erschien das Debütalbum "Perfectionist" und markiert damit einen weiteren Meilenstein in der Karriere der Sängerin, Produzentin, Songwriterin und Schauspielerin mit jamaikanisch-uruguayischen Wurzeln. Via MySpace erlangte sie erste, zaghafte Bekanntheit und machte damit Black-Eyed-Peas-Mastermind Will.I.Am auf sich aufmerksam. Danach ging alles relativ schnell, das Ergebnis dieser fruchtbaren Arbeit sind "Mirrors" und das dazugehörige Album "Perfectionist".
Ihre ersten Versuche als Songwriterin transformierte Natalia Kills schon bald in denjenigen schwergewichtig-düsteren Popsound, den sie mit „Perfectionist“ nun erstmals auf Albumlänge präsentiert: Mal sind es sich fast schon hinterhältig anschleichende Klaviermelodien und peitschenharte Breaks – so bei „Zombie“, mitreißende Tracks wie die neue Single „Wonderland“ (VÖ: 29.04.11) oder himmlische Harmonien und der an Eurythmics erinnernde Electro-Pop-Rausch eines Stücks wie „Mirrors“.
Musik muss für Natalia mehr sein als pure Unterhaltung: „Stücke wie ‘Love Kills’ von Queen, Zeilen wie ‘…drills you through the heart… scars you from the start’ – Songs, die unter die Haut gehen. Für mich gehört es einfach dazu, dass man sich auch mal was traut und sich aus dem Fenster lehnt, wenn man Songs schreibt; denn wenn man diesen Mut nicht in seiner Musik zeigt, wo soll man ihn dann zeigen?“ Mit ihrem am Freitag erschienenen Debüt zeigt Natalia Kills, was für eine ambitionierte und aufstrebende Künstlerin sie ist.
Das Album "Perfectionist" ist seit Freitag, 1. April in den Läden zu haben. Die Single "Mirrors" kann man schon seit einiger Zeit kaufen. Ende April erscheint dann die neue Single "Wonderland". Alle Infos dazu folgen in Kürze. Hier gibt es nun erst einmal das Video zur ersten Single "Mirrors".
