Nach den beiden Knallern "Ignorance" und "Brick By Boring Brick" erscheint mit "The Only Exception" nun die dritte Single und erste Ballade aus dem aktuellen Album "Brand New Eyes" von Paramore.
Mit ihrem neuen Album knüpfte die US-Band nahtlos an die Erfolge und vor allem an die Musik des Vorgängers "Riot" aus dem Jahre 2007 an. Meiner Meinung nach haben sie sogar noch eine ordentliche Schüppe draufgelegt.
Das aktuelle Album "Brand New Eyes" gehörte zu meinen Topalben des Jahres 2009 und besonders gefallen hat mir die aktuelle Single "The Only Exception". Hier schlägt die ansonsten eher kämpferische Sängerin Hayley Williams einmal ruhigere Töne an und singt einen Lovesong, den man vor Paramore so in dieser Form eigentlich gar nicht erwartet hätte. Vor allem die Kernzeile "You are the only exception" dürfte die Fans wohl kaum kalt lassen und so gehören Feuerzeuge und Leuchtstäbchen auf jeden Fall ins Campinggepäck, wenn man sich in diesem Sommer auf den Weg zu den diversen Festivals macht. Denn live zu sehen sind Paramore im Sommer beim Hurricane- und auch beim Southside-Festival.
Der internationale Durchbruch gelang Paramore mit dem Song "Decode", der als Titelsong für den Film "Twilight – Biss zum Morgengrauen" auserwählt wurde.
Mit atemberaubenden Hooklines, extrem guten Melodien und unbezwingbarer Energie schaffte "Brand New Eyes" den direkten Sprung auf Platz 2 der Billboard 200!
In Deutschland katapultierte es sich locker auf Platz 7 der Album-Charts und sorgte für eine komplett ausverkaufte Tour, bei deren größeren Dates sich zeitweilig 4000 Fans in der Halle drängten, so geschehen im Kölner Palladium und in der Berliner Columbiahalle. Eine halbe Million in den USA verkaufte Exemplare von "Brand New Eyes" bescherte der Band zudem erneut US-Gold.
Das aktuelle Album "Brand New Eyes" steht in Deutschland seit dem 21. September 2009 im Handel. Eine ausführliche Kritik dazu findet ihr hier. Die dritte Single, das neue Lied "The Only Exception" soll ab dem 11. Juni in den Läden stehen.
